Browser Web Filter
E-Rate CIPA compliance, safety, and security made easy with Content Filter by ManagedMethods
The bedrock of web filtering for E-Rate compliance is blocking students from accessing inappropriate websites and online content. But web filtering has become a complicated and cumbersome process.
Content Filter makes customizing your district’s web content filtering easy. The cloud-based platform is so lightweight that your end users will barely know it’s there. You will enjoy a platform that is easy to use, with pre-set categories and highly customizable block and allow listing by domain and Organizational Units.
Students are exploring their world and interacting online more regularly than any generation before. Administrators and technology leaders agree that keeping students safety—both online and IRL—requires some level of online monitoring so that red flags can turn into support that saves lives every day.
Content Filter balances school-provided safety with student privacy. The platform only monitors activity on school-provided accounts. It uses artificial intelligence to detect inputs in online searches, social media and gaming messaging, and more that could indicate a safety issue.
YouTube is an important learning tool in today’s classrooms. Unfortunately, it’s a platform that was never created with young children and educational focus in mind. Schools and teachers are struggling to balance access to engaging, educational content with blocking inappropriate or unnecessary videos.
Content Filter is purpose-built for the K-12 environment. Our granular YouTube controls allow you to block or allow content by specific keywords, channels, and videos. You can also choose to block sidebar, up next, live chat, and comments content. These blocking rules work on YouTube itself, as well as when videos are embedded in other areas, such as Google apps like Docs, Forms, Slides, etc.
Are you evaluating your web filter options? Then this guide is for you! This Content Filter Buyer’s Guide will walk you through the five criteria you should consider when looking for a web filtering tool. It also discusses how to make switching to a new web content filter as seamless as possible.

Testimonials
“If you’re not sure which direction you want to go and you just want to give Content Filter a try, the POC has little to no impact in terms of getting it set up and running it in your environment. The amount of visibility you’ll get from Content Filter is amazing. I encourage everyone to try it out. It’s something that we’re required to have, so having something in place that works well and is easy to manage is a huge plus.”

Director of Technology, Azusa Unified School District
“Anytime we deal with a vendor, we go through the same thing. What’s different about ManagedMethods was that they stuck their necks out and went out of their way to ensure we had everything covered. Customer service was the priority rather than the financial side of things.”
Tyler Butler
Cyber Security Analyst Lufkin ISD
“ManagedMethods is the right price for the amount of features and functions. But also for the people that stand behind the product. Being able to pick up the phone or send an email to someone there that you know, that’s in the same boat that you are, and speaks your language is huge. ManagedMethods has a fantastic support team that actually engages with their customers.”

Director of Technology West Rusk CCISD
Content Filter's Student Safety Signals use keyword regex and artificial intelligence to detect potential safety risks in online browsing, social media, gaming sites, and anywhere on the web. It detects risks such as self-harm, suicide, sexually explicit content, cyberbullying, and toxicity directly in Chrome and Edge browsers.
Out-of-box support for over 30 website categories representing over 300,000 websites. Admins can easily create block and allow policies for students in Chrome and Edge browsers. Additionally, set more granular policies for URLs including regex. Import existing block and allow lists via .csv.
Content Filter for education can be configured to block social media sites, including Reddit and YouTube. YouTube blocking can be managed more granularly based on keywords associated with a video, and by specific channels and videos. You can also analyze keywords associated with a video using the video link, which helps you build a better filter.
YouTube blocking configurations extend to embedded videos, such as in Google Slides and Forms, where students have been known to get around other filters.
