Back-to-School Safely: How Technology Can Improve Student Safety Incident Response

Webinar Recording On-Demand

Discover How K-12 Tech Leaders Use Technology To Help Their Students Get Back-To-School Safely

Student safety risks online, such as cyberbullying and explicit content, are growing concerns that can have serious consequences for students. When it comes to mental health and safety, schools need to be able to detect signs of distress online and in school-provided technology to prevent a situation from going from bad to worse.

However, picking up on these signals is exceptionally difficult. Many schools lack the resources to proactively monitor the well-being of their students online effectively. This is where technology and your district's IT department can make a huge difference in students’ lives

During this session, Kyle Pezzolla, IT Manager at Windsor Learning Center, and Jose Mendoza, IT Systems Manager at Sage Oak Charter School, donated their time to share their experiences and help your district improve student safety online. You'll also see a demonstration of ManagedMethods' Cloud Monitor platform while learning how Kyle and Jose use Cloud Monitor to help protect their students and educate them on digital citizenship.

This recorded discussion covers:

  • The types of mental health and safety risks that students are experiencing, and how those trends have changed over the years
  • Why technology is a critical part of districts’ mental health and safety toolkit
  • How technology teams can work with student resources and/or school leaders to enable effective crisis intervention
  • What technologies are recommended and what to look for in potential vendor(s)/partner(s)
