(Boulder, Colorado – August 03, 2016) – ManagedMethods, a leading provider in the cloud access security broker (CASB) space, today announced a partnership with Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. Specifically, ManagedMethods integrates with Check Point’s Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) appliances to provide organizations with enhanced control and visibility into both network and cloud applications.
“The Check Point and ManagedMethods partnership gives companies enhanced protection from network and cloud-based threats,” said Charlie Sander, CEO of ManagedMethods. “Our joint solution provides comprehensive network security with enhanced cloud visibility and control of Shadow IT, as well as cloud audit and control of popular collaboration apps like Office 365, Box, Dropbox and Google Apps.”
Cloud Access Monitor is a CASB solution that provides IT security teams with visibility and control of cloud apps in use across the enterprise and can be installed on-premise or in the cloud. Combined with Check Point’s NGFW, corporate security policies can be extended to the cloud, as well as to mobile devices like laptops, tablets, and smartphones outside of the corporate network.
By monitoring Check Point NGFW logs, ManagedMethods’ Cloud Access Monitor is analyzing the use of sanctioned and unsanctioned cloud apps in the organization. Based on the corporate security policy, Cloud Access Monitor then uses Check Point’s NGFW to allow or deny access to these applications.
It’s no secret that cloud application (SaaS) usage is on the rise, and the use of these apps has created an intensified risk of data leaks, malware attacks, and the problematic visibility and security issues of Shadow IT. Without visibility, the use of cloud apps and the data exchanged with these apps is a huge blind spot for IT teams, putting the entire company at risk.
“ManagedMethods brings value to our partnership by integrating Cloud Access Monitor with Check Point’s Next Generation Firewall, both with our logging and enforcement capabilities,” said Alon Kantor, Vice President of Business Development at Check Point Software. “Our integration with ManagedMethods allows our customers to have visibility and better control of usage of unsanctioned and high-risk cloud applications.”
ManagedMethods and Check Point have formed this partnership to deliver enhanced network security and cloud control. The combination of these two security solutions ensures high-performance network protection and cloud application security address rapidly evolving threat landscapes.
