Cloud Monitor helps Illinois school district achieve and maintain Soppa compliance

The Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA) is an Illinois state data privacy law that regulates student data collection and use by schools, the Illinois State Board of Education, and EdTech vendors.

Starting July 1, 2021, school districts are required to provide additional guarantees that student data is protected when collected by EdTech companies and that the data is used for beneficial purposes only.

You are also required to provide parents with greater control over their children’s data, enact data breach notifications to the public, and maintain reasonable security procedures and practices.

During this webinar, The Learning Technology Center of Illinois and ManagedMethods team up to provide you with best practices for SOPPA compliance.
